PUNCH® Oceania Coffees

PUNCH® NO. 1 Special Reserve

PUNCH® No. 1 Special Reserve coffee is picked from bushes originally transplanted from the famous Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee estates to Papua New Guinea in the early 20th Century.

Cultivated in nutrient-rich volcanic soils, this coffee differs from estate coffees because it is grown above 6,000ft (1,828m) on mist-covered slopes under a canopy of mountain rainforests that are home to the Bird of Paradise.

This environment develops a large hard dense Arabica coffee bean, filled with an intensity of juices, that when roasted produce a rich, smooth flavour. The white flowers of the coffee bush have a strong jasmine perfume and when they become ripe red coffee cherries, are hand-picked and processed.

Today, from small jungle gardens, this truly ‘wild’ rainforest coffee has emerged as arguably the world’s most perfect coffee. Limited stocks of PUNCH® No. 1 Special Reserve coffee are available.

PUNCH® Indonesian Sulawesi

PUNCH® Indonesian Sulawesi Coffee is shade-grown in the central highlands of South Sulawesi, above 3,000ft (914m).

This area has been famous for nearly two centuries for its weekly coffee market and numerous highly competitive small coffee collectors.

The geology of Sulawesi dates back more than 100 million years, and this, combined with the distinctive process used by the Sulawesi farmers called “Giling Basah” (wet hulling) gives the local coffee its distinctive low acidity, full body and muted deep fruit notes.

PUNCH® Indonesian Sulawesi coffee is a full flavoured coffee to be enjoyed especially in the morning.
